Wat Thammamun ( two pictures right )  Wat Thammamun woravihan  is an ancient temple in the province dated back to Ayutthaya period locating in the area of Thammamun Hill. On the eastern bank of the Chao Phraya River at Moo 1, Tambon Thammamun about eight km's. north of the city. The main chamber of the temple features a sacred Buddha statue in the Phang  Ham Yaad form, and artistic creation combining Ayutthaya and Sukhothai  influences in  the right hand of the  Buddha  statue holds the wheel of  Dharma  illustrating one of the ten  characteristics of  great man. This  particular  status is highly  respected and  widely worshiped by  the natives of  Chai Nat and  nearby  provinces. Within the  temple,   there is also another  artistic piece of double Sema  made from  sandstones craved in Ayutthaya style.Two fairs to worship the image are held in May and October.

Transportation by buses 1064 Chai Nat – Manohrom, 122 Nakhon  Sawan – Chai Nat or 903 Bangkok – Uthai Thani.

Monkeys at Wat Thammikawat Located in Tambon Pho Ngam, Amphoe Sankhaburi, this temple is 38 kilometres south of Chai Nat along Route No. 311 ( Chai Nat - Sing Buri route ). Its pleasant area next to the Noi River is home to several monkeys.

Wat Karuna ( seen right )  Located near the Chao Phraya Dam, this temple houses a large sandstone Buddha image  namely Phra Phutthamaha Sila, which is highly revered by the local people of Chai Nat.

Wasan Crocodile Farm It is located at No. 121, Mu 3, Tambon Makham Thao. From Amphoe Mueang Chai Nat, proceed along the Chai Nat - Wat Sing route (Highway No. 3183) at Km. 24 and the crocodile farm is on the right hand side. Local Products to look out for

Pomelo , this fruit from a famous and selected genus has been in existence for almost 100 years.

The most popular breed is the Khao Taeng Kwa which produces large fresh and sweet pomelo.

Hand-woven rattan and bamboo products keep coming into the market with improved design and quality.  

Dakkhanon Mattress Stuffed with kapok, this mattress is made by the locals of Ban Dakkhanon, Tambon Thammamun.
