Wat Pho Temple, Phra Chedi Rai,and the Belfry,Page 6  Bangkok,

Belfry is the time teller of every monastery and in Buddhism it symbolizes awakening for the Noble Truth and the feeling of peace. In Wat Pho, there are two bell towers, one in the south and one in the north with the group of four dynasty pagodas ( Phra Maha Chedi Si Rajakarn ) in the middle, having been built in the reign of King Rama I and King Rama III respectively. They are tetrahedrons in 12 notched rim structures ending in a tall spire, standing on a high thick pedestal with stairs and boundary wall decorated with multi coloured Chinese mosaics. Item number 11 on the layout plan
