Bang Na is one of the 50 districts ( Khet ) of Bangkok, Thailand. Its neighbours, clockwise from the north, are the Phra Khanong and Prawet districts of Bangkok, Amphoe Bang Phli, Amphoe Mueang, and Amphoe Phra Pradaeng of Samut Prakan Province.

Bang Na was once a sub district of Phra Khanong. It became a separate district on 6th. March 1998.


Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre ( BITEC  see photo next page ) is a major convention and exhibition centre in Bangkok. Among it's regularly hosted events include the annual Bangkok International Motor Show. During major exhibitions, trams are provided for transportation between BITEC and On Nut Bangkok Sky train station.


Several temples are in the district such as Wat Bang Na Nai, Wat Bang Na Nok, Wat Sri Eaem , and Wat Phong Phloy Witthayaram .Central City Bangna ( see photo’s next page of this Shopping Mall ) is one of the first shopping malls in Bang Na. Unlike other shopping centres belonging to Central, it has a theme park and water theme park for recreation on upper floors.


There is a BTS Sky train Sukhumvit Line: Baering Extension ( completed but not yet open ) through the area along Sukhumvit Road. Three new stations in Bang Na are planned: Udom Suk, Bang Na and Bearing Station (also spelled Baring). It is expected to be finished in 2010. The new Bang Na station will be about 500 mtrs. away from BITEC.


Sukhumvit Road and Bang Na - Trat Highway are two major highways linking Bangkok to Eastern Thailand. On top of Bang Na - Trad Highway is the 55 km toll Buraphawithi Expressway reaching Chon Buri Province. The new Suvarnabhumi Airport can be accessed from the south via Bang Na - Trad and Buraphawithi as an alternative to Bangkok - Chon Buri Highway ( or Motor Way ) from the north.
