Wat Sa Bor Keao ( top right ) is situated on Namkue Road near the city moat. This temple features a beautiful pagoda built in Burmese style. This spectacular temple has a valuable marble Buddha image inside.It is also famous for its  unique old tradition derived from Burma since  ancient times. That is presenting food to Phra


Wat Chom Sawan is an old Burmese-style temple built during the reign of King Rama V under the control of a Burmese architect. The multi-layered roof, ceiling and pillars are exquisitely decorated in wood fretwork. The temple features two unique holy objects. The first one is the Buddhist inscriptions which were carved in Burmese characters on 16 sheets of ivory. The other is a  Buddha image made of bamboo and covered with gold leaf.  


Ban Thung Hong a village noted for the making of products made from Mo Hom  material. It is a local cotton fabric dyed in blue which is used in making native and modern wears.


Ban Rong Fong  specialises in making metal agricultural tools using traditional production method.


Ban Pong Si  at Tambon Thin of Mueang district is a village which collects and exchanges second-hand household utensils for daily use.


Wat Phra Non, the Monastery of the Reclining Buddha, is considered to be a classic example of Phrae religious architecture. Most notable is the structure housing the reclining Buddha. Instead of windows, the sides of the structure are illuminated by long, narrow openings called chong lom  ( wind gaps ), surmounted by cross shaped openings. This design permits ample illumination  while minimizing the amount of direct sunlight entering the structure during the hot summer months.


Wat Phrathat Chorhae is the most famous temple in Phrae. This temple is about eight kilometres to the  east of town on Highway 1022. It was built in the Sukhothai period between 1879 - 1881 B.E.The 33 metre tall Chedi which is the most prominent part of the temple was built in the octagonal shape in Chiang  Saen style. It houses relics of the Lord Buddha. It was built of brick and covered withBright brass sheets. There is a fair celebrating the Chedi in March every year.
