Along with The Emporium department store, the mall contains a cinema multiplex and book, record, fashion and trinket shops, a grocery store, a food court and many upscale restaurants.

The Emporium is a popular hub for entertainment, gourmet food and education for local residents and visitors. Entertainment offerings include SF cinema, an exhibition hall, and children's play centres. The Emporium's many dining options range from chic restaurants like Greyhound Cafe to classic restaurants, an upscale food hall and fast food courts, and include all types of international cuisine.

The Emporium was designed by J & H Boiffils - a renowned architecture and interior design firm based in Paris founded by the wife and husband team Jacqueline and Henri Boiffils.

The Emporium was their first shopping mall design project in Thailand. They later designed the famous luxury Mega mall Siam Paragon in Bangkok for the same developer. The Emporium was Bangkok’s first luxury lifestyle mall offering venues for upscale shopping, dining and entertainment, and supermarket in one complex.

Sukhumvit 24 in Bangkok has several shops along its length but there are also several high quality shops in the surrounding area.  You will find  off the main Soi, Baan Paew Clinic, This clinic was started by the King and Queen of Thailand to help the aged and the poor.

Sukhumvit 24 or Soi 24  is home to many expatriates from all countries but it is attracting more Japanese expatriates as newer and more modern apartments are built. There are several expatriate areas in Bangkok, most of which are along Sukhumvit road, but Sukhumvit 24 is one of the largest. Due to it being centrally located and having easy access to other areas of Bangkok via the BTS sky Train.

Sukhumvit 24 in Bangkok can be reached from Rama 4 road or from Sukhumvit road. From the Rama 4 end of the road, there is a small Tesco Lotus supermarket and a BMW show room. It is also the closer end of the Soi to all the shops and restaurants. The Sukhumvit road entrance is next to The Emporium department store.

Which ever entrance you take, you will find apartment buildings and shops all the way down the road  ( Soi ) until you get to the other end, but as mentioned above, it is the Rama 4 end of the Soi that seems to have its own self-contained area of shops and restaurants.
