The bus dropped us back at the start point and the next adventure began. Walking through the tree covered walkways into the main park area on the left was a vast collection of parrots. I have never seen so many all gathered together. None seemed to want to fly away when approached by the many people visiting the park.

Next was the river cruise I paid separately for this and bargained with the ticket seller, I managed to get half price for my Thai friend. The boats are self propelled by jets of water being released at strategic points around the course. Don’t expect any animals or anything alive in this part.

The exhibits are all models of prehistoric man and their camps, snakes, gorilla’s, tigers, and all manner of other things to give you a daylight spoof Ghost train ride but in a boat. The ride was enjoyable. It was very cool ( though somewhat misty ) riding along in the boat not having to row it or even steer it. At one point a water jet squirts water at you which is a bit annoying when you have expensive video and camera equipment with you.

However you can see it before it happens and make provisions for covering anything of value. The ride lasted about 25 minutes arriving back at the start point to the hot humid air again.

The next part was pretty much -free for-all. You could wander about and enjoy all the rest of the park. I wandered past a large Restaurant and ordered two ice creams, from the outside kiosk, they were not cheap. Nothing is cheap here, especially for Thailand. However you really have to forget about the money for one day.

Concentrate on what’s available here for a full day of entertainment. You have to plan all the shows to make sure you can attend them, but most of them start early, so we had missed many of them by the time I arrived at Safari World.
